WOMB WARMTH

AS THE SEASONS CHANGE

It is the perfect time to reflect within yourself and tap into the inner warmth of your womb. Whether you are physically cold from living near colder weather or you are mentally and emotionally feeling cold, we encourage you to explore your womb temple.

This is an invitation and your chance to get cozy with us! Warm your heart and soul - and of course, your yoni.

*Please note: Whether or not you have a physical womb you can still embark upon the journey of womb warmth. We created this content to explicitly include not only cis women but also trans women and femme/feminine-identifying genderqueer & non-binary folks. This includes if you’ve undergone the physical loss of womb, uterus, ovaries, uterine tubes or salpinges, cervix, and/or any part of the female anatomy. We hope that you find this information supportive.

WHAT IS WOMB WARMTH?

Tapping into your womb warmth is the moment-by-moment practice of slowing down and tuning into your bodies subtle, and sometimes not-so-subtle, energy patterns and creating space for more love, gratitude and joy.

Womb warmth is imagining your yoni, pelvic bowl and entire energetic sacral space and feeling a golden radiance emanating in 360 degrees.

WOMB WARMTH FEELS LIKE:

  • knowing you are enough

  • believing in yourself

  • being cozy under a blanket with your favorite mug of hot tea or coffee

  • simply giving yourself what you need - when you need it

  • trusting yourself

  • knowing you are safe and held, physically, emotionally and mentally

  • surrendering to the moment and then surrendering deeper

Alright, if you don’t feel any of this at this exact moment, congratulations, you’re probably feeling akin to the whole world right now. The key is to understand moment-by-moment when you fall out of sync and what you can do to come back into alignment. For a more physical explanation, let's look at TCM...

TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE WISDOM

Womb warmth, as it is known in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), is often referred to as having a warm uterus. Maintaining a warm Lower Dantien (pronounced Don-Tee-Ehn) translates to the golden stove, contributes to proper circulation to the uterus, healthy and balanced hormones, and may even help with supporting fertility.

If there is ‘coldness’ in the uterus, it may be due to a deficiency of Kidney Yang. Symptoms can include having cold hands, feet, and other areas of the body, an under-active thyroid, pre-menstrual spotting, cysts on the ovaries, menstrual cramps, poor digestion, habitual miscarriage, and excessive urination, especially at night. Being ‘ridged’ or ‘cold’ energetically is also a sign. Any of these sound relatable? What can you do to warm up your womb both literally and figuratively?

WAYS TO KEEP YOUR WOMB WARM

1. YONI GAZING

Yoni gazing is gazing at the sun with your yoni. In case you’ve never heard of this… Sun gazing is based on the ancient practice of gazing at the rising and setting sun, only when the sun is within one inch of the horizon, it is said that the body can ingest the sun’s rays through the iris in ways beyond the skin. We suggest finding an indoors private and uninterrupted space, or outdoor if you have privacy and the weather is warm enough, where you can lay comfortably with your yoni exposed to the direct sunlight.
Set the space with a comfy blanket, meditative music, incense or sage, and a Yoni Crystal if you have one. Lay in Goddess pose with the soles of your feet together and your knees resting gently on the ground. Simply relax, soften, and bask in the sunshine.

2. MAGICK MUGWORT

It is said that the ancient Celts referred to mugwort as one of their sacred herbs. Known for its ability to promote relaxation, pain relief and boost circulation to support female health in a variety of ways. Mugwort is a uterine stimulant that can cause delayed menstruation, help with cramping, help to normalize cycles, and it can even soothe the transition of menopause. Considered a uterine tonic, it can be safely taken over long periods of time, except during pregnancy.
Enjoy our two Magick Mugwort recipes:

    Mugwort Bath:

Take 4 cup of fresh or 2 cups of dried mugwort, put in a large pot on the stove, cover with 4 quarts of water then simmer covered for 15 mins to 1 hour. Strain through a strainer or cheesecloth into a pot with handles enjoying the aroma of the mugwort as you pour. Relax in hot bath, adding epsom salt if you have it. When cooled enough to pour into your bath, you may pour over your head and face connecting to the magick mugwort.

    Mugwort Womb Warming Tea:
      • 2-3 slices ginger
      • 2 parts dried mugwort
      • 1 part calendula
      • 1 part oregano
      • 2-3 cups spring or purified water
      • Bring water to a boil and add all herbs to water being sure to smell the aroma of the plants connecting and thanking then for their loving service to you. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 min then pour through strainer or cheese cloth. Serve in your favorite mug and enjoy. Feel the nourishing herbs and warmth go all of the way down to your womb radiating healing heat.

                3. WARMING FOOD & DRINK

You can enjoy yummy nourishing cooked foods and warm drinks such as: soups and stews, curries, chillies, stir-fry, warm porridge, herbal and mugwort tea (listed above!). Spices such as ginger, cardamom, cinnamon. Consider avoiding cold foods, drinks with ice and even raw foods/ meals if you can.

                4. STAY COZY

Give yourself movement throughout the day to increase your heart rate, helping to oxygenate and circulate blood. Keep your feet warm by wearing thick socks or slippers, especially when at home if the floors are cold. Wear sweaters and enough layers. If you have a fireplace cozy up next to it with a loved one and/or a good book. Sleep with an extra blanket on the bed and even give yourself some extra loving time in bed in the morning.
